A DRI-BOX is a transparent and regenerating dehydrating cartridge. The DRI-BOX is approximately 2" x 2" x 1" and contains 45.5gms of Indicating Silica Gel. Indicating Silica Gel is the type of desiccant that will turn from blue to pink when it can no longer pick-up more moisture.
DRI-BOX will remove the moisture (and thus prevent corrosion) in a sealed 3 cubic ft. area. A safe is a good example of a sealed area as is a toolbox with a gasket. When used in a sealed area, the DRI-BOX may not have to be re-generated for over a year. The DRI-BOX will also assist in the prevention of corrosion, mildew, and other problems caused by humidity in unsealed containers. It has worked in fishing tackle boxes, plastic clothing storage containers, wooden boxes used to store collectibles and even plastic bags.
IMPORTANT: A plastic "freezer grade" Ziploc bag is not a very good place to keep moisture sensitive objects. However, any of these containers, including the plastic Ziploc bag, will work when used in conjunction with the DRI-BOX. BUT.... Because these are not perfectly sealed containers, you may have to re-generate the DRI-BOX more often, perhaps as much as every month. It will still keep leather goods from having mildew spots, instruments, electronics from corrosion or rust, stamps from becoming gummy, collectibles from deterioration, protection from mold and thousands of other threats presented by moisture.

The top DRI-BOX in the picture is active. The deep blue color means that the water has been pushed out of the pores of the material inside. When the DRI-BOX turns pink, (in the bottom of the picture) it is time for re-generation. The DRI-BOX can be regenerated hundreds and hundreds of times. It is a useful product that is also very ecological. It can be re-generated in either a conventional oven or a microwave oven.
Read the RE-GENERATION instructions. We are not responsible should you melt the plastic case.
When the small beads of silica gel inside turn pink, place in microwave and heat several times FOR LESS THAN 45 seconds EACH TIME. The silica gel will turn blue again. Conventional Oven: 225°F for 3 - 4 hours
